Description
The Back Story – My Wife’s Great Aunt Bonnie contracted Meningitis when she was nine, this caused her to lose her hearing. As a result, her parents sent her to a school for the hearing impaired, however during this era it was frowned upon to teach sign language, so the school taught lip reading instead. One of the ways they taught the kids to read lips was to have them watch movies, television, etc. To pull the kids interest in they would also have them write to the actors, directors, singers, that they saw in these shows. Often these letters would garner a response, sometimes these would be personal, sometimes they would just be a signed photo, or promotional item. Over the years these items added up, and when dear Bonnie passed we inherited many Albums filled with these responses. Our kids are now older, and we are looking to the future. We are not selling any of the personalized items, but we decided to let go of the general items. I hope you enjoy a peak into the past, and take just as much care for these items as our Dear Aunt Bonnie did. This is a Rare B&W Signed Photo cir. 1940's, from - Barry Sullivan - 'The Gangster' The Photo is Hand Signed - Barry Sullivan
