I started writing professionally, but part-time, as a feature writer for a national newspaper in Wales and whilst raising my three daughters, during which time I acted as a stringer for the local newspapers whilst germinating ideas for future projects After the children left home for college I was fortunate to have my first children's book published and, at the same time, was accepted at University to read for an MA which eventually led to my gaining a PhD. Having now had some 30 books published: children's books, plays, poetry, fantasy and historical fiction, I have never lost either the urge or the need to write. It gives me tremendous pleasure that due to my writing I'm in the position of being able to work with both children and adults helping to foster a love of literature and creative writing.
