"Carnival glass is a type of iridescent, pressed glassware that was popular in the early 20th century. It is also known as aurora glass, dope glass, rainbow glass, taffeta glass, and disparagingly as ‘poor man’s Tiffany’ . The name “Carnival glass” was adopted by collectors in the 1950s as items of it were sometimes given as prizes at carnivals, fetes, and fairgrounds . The glass is moulded or pressed to which an iridescent surface shimmer has been applied using metallic salts while the glass is still hot from the pressing . The finish catches the light even in dark corners, making it a popular choice for households at a time when only the well-off could afford bright electric lighting . Carnival glass was mass-produced around the world, but largely and initially in the U.S 1 . It reached the height of its popularity in the 1920s, though it is still produced in small quantities today . Both functional and ornamental objects were produced in the carnival finish and patterns ranged from simple through geometric and ‘cut’ styles to pictorial and figurative . A wide range of colors and color combinations were produced; scarcely used colors can command very high prices on the collector market "

The fish arrived in a good, healthy condition. The packaging was very good, keeping them in an even temperature for their journey. Communication was also top notch. The only downside: The fish were not as vibrantly colored as the ones pictured and therefore, what I expected. I waited a 3 days before writing this in hopes they would regain color. They haven't yet. I got exactly what I ordered, I just expected more colorful fish. Overall satisfied with this seller.

"Belle" just arrived to day want was undamaged and well packaged. Condition was as described. Although shipping cost was a bit higher than competitors, I think that overall (purchase price plus shipping) resulted in a reasonable price and a good outcome. Thanks.
