Description
This is for a vintage mid century Royal Fleet California glazed lava pottery vessel vase. A stunning textured piece in orange, white and golds. Raised areas with drips, run and brushed areas sporadically placed all over the piece. Piece is in a gloss finish. Im not sure what its made of. It appears lighter in weight than say stoneware. We thought maybe ceramic but theres areas where pottery is raw and it does not look like white ceramic to us. You see photos. You judge. It stands at appx 10.5 inches tall. Top diameter of 5.25 inches while bottom base sit area is 5 inches. The circumfrence around the bottom belly/widest area of vessel is 25.5 inches. A guestimate with tape measure diameter across this area is maybe 7.5 inches to maybe 7 3/8 inches . Hard to get exact to to round shape. Theres no scratches, breaks or actual damage to piece. We are going to note the last photos . These are a couple of the textured raised areas on vessel. We are not calling these chips or breaks. They are more of like air pocket pop areas in pottery. They remind us of little air bubbles that opened during firing. This is best way we can try to explain. These are all there is in the photos. There are also a couple of which I referred to earlier in description to show the raw pottery under the glazing. Sort of a brown terra cotta type coloring. Zoom in to see. Great protective packaging of fragile item. I do wish the item had been pictured next to another object because it is much larger than I expected, despite the concise measurements listed.
